Directions and Guidelines

It is our perspective that individuals in a position of authority and influence should conduct themselves with professional and ethical behaviour. The IOFSA presents this following as a Code of Ethics we endorse and strive to fulfill as members of this association.

  1. To keep the safety of the public as a matter of first consideration.
  2. To promote and strive for the highest possible standard in the lawful use of firearms and responsibility associated with that use.
  3. To maintain a high standard of professional conduct.
  4. To serve the public with diligence and without discrimination by reason of race, national or ethnic origin, religion or sex.
  5. To hold in professional confidence information concerning a student candidate unless a need for public safety arises or as required by law.
  6. To avoid conflicts of interest that would reduce the quality of firearms education or safety
  7. To conduct all activities related to the IOFSA with integrity, impartiality, honesty and diligence, always insuring the highest standards of instruction and learning environment are maintained in the interest of promoting firearms safety.
